Retirement Celebration

Now that Father Bill Wieland has officially announced his retirement, St. Andrew’s and the greater Greencastle community can celebrate his 23-year-ministry as Rector.

In the weeks leading up to his final service on Pentecost Sunday, June 12, 2011, we will honor Father Bill’s love of music with special performances during weekly Sunday services.  We will also be creating a communal timeline in the Hamilton Hall. It is our hope that this simple timeline will become a collection of important events and happenings in the life of our parish during Father Bill’s tenure. We invite and encourage everyone to add significant events in their family’s life to this timeline.

Following the June 12, 2011 Sunday service, we will have an extended coffee hour for the many expected visitors. That afternoon from 3-5 PM, a reception will be held in the Great Hall at the Green Center for the Performing Arts on DePauw University’s campus. All present and past members of St. Andrew’s, members of the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Indiana, and the greater Greencastle community are invited to celebrate with Father Bill and Lucy. Light appetizers and desserts will be served.

We look forward to celebrating Father Bill’s and Lucy’s ministry at St. Andrew’s in the coming weeks.
