Christmas Eve in St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 520 E. Seminary St., Greencastle, begins with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 5:00 p.m. Friday, December 24.
This Christmas Eve service is planned especially for families with young children, but is appropriate for all ages. After the children take the lead in re-telling the Christmas story by identifying and talking about the Nativity figures that have been placed in the creche, members of the congregation will be given the opportunity to come forward to the creche, where offerings for the Putnam County Food Pantry may be placed.
The traditional Festival Holy Eucharist by candlelight begins at 11:00 p.m., preceded at 10:30 p.m. by a half-hour concert of Christmas music for voices and instruments.
On Christmas Day (Saturday) the Holy Eucharist will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. On Sunday, December 26, the Holy Eucharist will be celebrated at 10:15 a.m. only; there will be no 8:00 a.m. service.
Everyone is invited to join with the people of St. Andrew’s in their observance of the Christmas season.
