Hello St. Andrew’s Family,
While attending a religious retreat back in my high school days (many year ago), a friend of mine explained to the group how music had inspired her throughout her life. Even without the word “God” or “Jesus” in the lyrics, she could substitute a few words so the lyrics became spiritual to her. I don’t listen to much music, but I do love to read and listen to books on CD.
I recently read the book The Power by Rhonda Byrne. The Putnam County Library has this work on DVD and CD. It gives many examples of the awesome power within us and around us. Also, when we make a choice to do something positive, the rest of the world will support us even if we are lacking a plan. It’s very powerful and has even more meaning when you place “God” as the force. Mary Mountz is a great example as she had a vision for the non-food pantry and the community came together to make her dream a reality.
In this advent season, may we all find God in places that are not obvious.
